Mindfulness is the fundamental human capacity to be totally present and aware of our surroundings and our actions, to avoid becoming too reactive or overwhelmed. We all naturally possess mindfulness, but when we practice regularly, it becomes more accessible to us.
Being mindful occurs when you use your senses to bring awareness to what you’re experiencing or to your thoughts and emotions, to bring awareness to your mental state. An increasing body of research demonstrates that teaching your brain to be mindful actually changes the way it is physically organised.
